Young boxing star Ryan Garcia has faced legal trouble after being arrested for vandalism at the renowned Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills on Saturday, June 8. The 25-year-old Garcia was arrested at 5:45 p.m. following an incident that resulted in damages estimated at $15,000, according to a Beverly Hills Police Department watch commander.
After being booked into the Beverly Hills Police Department jail, Garcia reported a medical problem and was transported to a facility for evaluation. TMZ sources indicated that the young boxer appeared to be “apparently under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs” at the time of the incident. In a video circulating on social media, Garcia can be seen on his back with his shirt off and wearing a helmet during his arrest. Fortunately, Garcia did not spend much time in jail, as he was released on bail.
In addition to dealing with legal issues, Garcia faces a suspension by the New York Athletic Commission after testing positive for the substance Ostarine in an anti-doping test prior to his victory over Devin Haney in April. With 25 wins and only one loss, Ryan Garcia has established himself as one of boxing’s most accomplished talents in recent years.
Despite the seriousness of the charges, Garcia was quick to reach out to his fans. Through the social network X, the boxer made several comments including a comparison with former President Donald Trump: “It’s funny that Trump and I are in jail. I don’t know if he’s in jail, but I know he was convicted. This sucks, but I love Jesus, I’ll be fine.”
Garcia’s lawyer has publicly noted that the boxer has been dealing with serious emotional and mental health issues. He emphasized that fan support is crucial for Garcia during this difficult time and confirmed that his team is dedicated to ensuring that he receives the help and care necessary for his well-being.
