Unsurprising to most followers of boxing, Tim Tszyu came out victorious after his bout with Light Middleweight challenger Carlos Ocampo, Mexican with a rugged background and having gone the distance with Sebastian Fundora, looked to be more a challenge than what was viewed Saturday night.

In fact, the manner in which Tszyu won was what took many people aback. The first round knockout was fairly dominant and essentially presented Tszyu the best opportunity to display his power with minimal risk.

Tszyu’s performance now places him as not only the number one contender to challenge for all the super welterweight belts undoubtedly, which he already was officially prior to entering the bout, but also the favorite in a showdown with Jermell Charlo, the sole current beltholder in the division.

High Stakes Bouts – 300k For Training

There is a spare no expense approach to Tim Tszyu’s current regimen in preparation for Jermell Charlo. Apparently, Coach Jennings is prepping a 300k training camp somewhere in the United States where various individuals will be hired in a discrete way to help prepare Tim for his potential bout to challenge Jermell.

Charlo, for those who have been living under a rock, is highly competitive and appears in various pound for pound rankings. He has been the World Boxing Council title holder since 2016 and has held the World Boxing Association (Super) and International Boxing Federation titles since 2020, as well as the World Boxing Organization belt since 2022. At one point, Charlo was the world’s tenth best boxer, pound for pound, per The Ring and The Transnational Boxing Rankings Board as of May 2022, and has claimed the coveted distinction of being undisputed within his division.
