Premiere Boxing Champions is a professional boxing promotion company based in the United States that promotes Errol Spence Jr, Jermall Charlo and David Benavidez. PBC was founded by Al Haymon and has wanted a multi-fight deal with Canelo for some time.
A promotional clip showing Canelo and the PBC brand has been cast as a tantalizing promise of what fights will emerge. Industry insiders alleged that the deal must be fairly large because to lock down Canelo for 3 fights seems highly unusual. No confirmed details have been published other than that Canelo will fight Jermall Charlo on September 2023.
While some are quick to criticize Eddie Hearn, we believe that the non-contractual nature of his business is what makes followers of Matchroom and related enterprises eager to support him. Not locking down a boxer as an indentured servant has its natural appeal to followers of the sport, after all. And, if Canelo is being paid handsomely to go through the entire PBC roster, then so be it for the P4P king of boxing.
The 3-fight deal is seemingly confirmed by Eddie Hearn since DAZN appears to not favor the financials behind PPV’s associated with Canelo. Again, we sincerely think the relationship remains amicable between the pair.
