The Gotham Hotel, a luxurious and exclusive establishment located in the town of Medellin, decided to close its doors voluntarily and definitively after the scandal generated by the case of Timothy Alan Livingston. The 36-year-old foreigner who was found in a room of the hotel with two minors of 12 and 13 years old. Livingston has been accused of sexual abuse and exploitation of minors, which has generated great outrage in the country. According to previous reports, the foreigner was found in the jacuzzi of the room with the minors, different drugs and used condoms were also found at the scene.
The hotel’s communiqué highlights that the closure was done voluntarily and definitively as well as its commitment to cooperate with the authorities to clarify doubts and solve this case. The consequences of this outrageous event have also generated concern about the fate of the employees of this establishment, but the hotel management said that they were already in the process of liquidation and also committed to help them in the search for new jobs.
Despite the official statement of the hotel, the mayor of Medellin Federico Gutierrez has requested the extinction of domain to this hotel and all establishments that register cases of abuse to minors and stressed that the Prosecutor’s Office is the entity responsible for making decisions.

Meanwhile, Timothy Livingston has managed to escape from Colombia and it is unknown where he has been since March 29, when he took a flight to Florida.Colombian authorities have issued a warrant for his arrest and have asked the U.S. government to extradite him so that he can face justice for his crimes.
