Interpol issued a blue notice against Timothy Alan Livingston, a 36-year-old US citizen accused of committing child sexual abuse in the city of Medellin. On March 28th, Livingston was found in one of the rooms of the Gotham Hotel in the company of two underage girls, 12 and 13 years old. On March 29, Livingston managed to escape from Colombia on a flight to Florida. Since then there has been no word of his whereabouts.

The notice, issued on April 5, allows Interpol further access to any information linked to Livingston. The Colombian Attorney General’s Office revealed that Livingston has a criminal record for child sexual abuse in the United States. If convicted of the charges in Colombia, he could face a minimum of 23 to 38 years in prison. The Colombian government had already requested Livingston’s extradition from the U.S. government on April 3, prior to the issuance of the Blue Notice.

Livingston’s case has attracted international attention, and authorities are working to bring him to justice in Colombia. The issuance of a blue circular indicates the seriousness of the charges against him and the global effort to ensure that he is held accountable for his actions.

Child exploitation is a widespread and abhorrent crime that continues to affect societies around the world. In Colombia, the government has been cracking down on this type of crime, and this Interpol notice serves as a powerful tool to help bring perpetrators to justice.
