Paola Parra, known as ‘La Pretty’, was captured at Colombia’s Rionegro airport after months of evading arrest. The 25-year-old Colombian woman had an Interpol red notice against her and was wanted in more than 190 countries for fraudulent activities. According to the Antioquia Police, Parra was caught trying to leave the country bound for the Dominican Republic.

The Antioquia Police revealed that the way Parra operated consisted of seducing foreign men through dating apps such as Tinder, Bumble, among others. She would then meet the victims in private places, drug them and steal all their belongings including cell phones, cash, cards, jewelry and all their valuables. Parra managed to swindle one of her victims of Brazilian origin out of US$23,000 and 2.5 million Colombian pesos.

The International Affairs Directorate of the Attorney General’s Office has taken over the case to ensure that Parra faces justice for her crimes.

This high-profile arrest has shed light on the dangers of online dating and the need for caution when interacting with strangers, especially in the digital world. Paola Parra’s capture serves as a warning to those who may attempt to take advantage of others through similar tactics.
