Sell-outs get defensive online: Gustavo Arellano and Lalo Alcaraz are often accused of validating racist narratives by giving people who harbor such views a platform to voice them. Chicanos also accuse them of spearheading a process of 'assimilation' upon the Mexican public using mass media. Terms like 'Culture Vulture', 'Minstrel', and 'Vendidos' are uttered in reference to ideological and business ties to their right-wing corporate media. When receiving criticism, both personalities deride those who speak out, but we ask: 'if one is a comedic, controversial and racy writer, why would they be so sensitive?'.

R.Scott Moxley repeatedly assaults the right of people to challenge the terms of their incarceration. No matter the crime, one has the right to arbitrate and dispute the terms of a sentence. As is well known, throughout the United States, prisoners, overwhelmingly Chicano and Afro-American, face the harshest sentences the judicial system has to offer, and are heavily stigmatzed by society. They are also heavily monitored by police agencies. As a consequence, these two groups collectively form the majority of incarcerated populations. Male youths from 15-23, in particular, are subject to the greatest amount of police 'attention'.

Ameyalli Rocha -- The United States' harsher immigration security has caused many Central Americans to go through dangerous routes in Mexico, which has led to a rise in mental health issues. Two thirds of migrants interviewed at shelters report at least one form of violence. MSF runs clinics in Mexico to treat these people and they report that 9/10 migrants in 2016 have showed signs of anxiety or depression.
