By Ricardo Lezama Last month, a young woman named Laury Yisel Guzman Becerra, was found dead in a hotel room in Bucaramanga, Colombia. Unfortunately, the tragedy is only compounded by malice. Suspicions around the death of Laury Yisel Guzman Becerra center on the woman’s boyfriend, Jonathan Montes, pictured below. He is a person of interest, according to Colombian police officials, but he has not been found guilt in abstentia.
Her death is attributed to asphyxiation with Jonathan Montes as the main suspect of the homicide which allegedly took place in an apartment leased by him. Though, the evidence on location may be circumstantial, Guzman’s death was first discovered by her friends who went to search for her when she failed to show up for work. Security cameras in the apartment building also saw Montes enter with her but leave the complex alone. Eventually, the Guzman Becerra’s friends found the corpse of the young woman from Cesar Department covered by a blanket.
Worse still, the family noted that Jonathan had suddenly vanished after her body’s discovery. The body was found naked without visible signs of a struggle, but it was odd that she was nude underneath the covers.
