The Santa Barbara Airport has been flooded due to heavy rainfall in the area, causing all flights to be cancelled.
All schools in the area have also been cancelled for tomorrow.
The last time the Santa Barbara Airport was flooded was in 1968.
The San Marcos Pass receiving over 13 inches of rain in 24 hours and Montecito receiving 6 inches of rain in 12 hours. The flooding has caused significant damage to the airport, with the runways and taxiways being completely submerged. The airport has been closed until further notice and all flights have been cancelled.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to residents to stay away from the airport and to avoid driving in the area. They have also warned residents to be prepared for possible flooding in their homes and businesses.
