Spanish authorities, in collaboration with Colombia and the Netherlands, have carried out a successful operation to free six victims of sexual exploitation and dismantle a large trafficking network operating in the three countries. The victims, all women from Colombia and Venezuela, were tricked with a supposed tourist trip and subsequently forced into prostitution and subjected to all kinds of abuses for exorbitant debts.

Thanks to this international operation, the victims have been rescued and their exploitation has been put to an end. According to the Spanish police, the network had collaborators in Colombia and Venezuela, who were paid 500 euros for each victim they delivered. Subsequently, the victims were taken to different European capitals, such as Madrid, Lisbon, Paris and Amsterdam, where they were abused to pay off their debts.

The suspects face felony charges of human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation, membership in a criminal organization and other related offenses. Thanks to the collaboration between countries and the work of the authorities, yet another criminal network that preys on women in vulnerable situations has been dismantled.
