Ridiculous. Far right party in Mexico, PAN, in touch with Juan Guaidó; Guaidó pressuring for #AMLO recognition, intervening in Mexico. La Cartita --- The #Mexican government is returning to a constitutional reading of its foreign policy. It states, through the Foreign Relations Office (SRE), that the official president of #Venezuela remains Nicolas Maduro, a non-interventionist stance that would leave relations with the actual government unaffected. This leaves Nicolas #Maduro as head of Venezuela in the eyes of the Mexican state. Since the pronouncement of Guaidó by the US as the official president of Venezuela, #Mexico's current president, #Andres #Manuel #Lopez #Obrado, is receiving pressure from the US and the #Venezuelan far right through its contacts in the #conservative press. #Univision, too, has chimed in to the conversation tangentially by highlighting AMLO's non-interventionist stance while legitimising exaggerated accounts of #Maduro as a dictator. In Mexico, the far-right PAN party has rallied behind Guaidó, with the latter leveraging extensive US based contacts and consequentially forcing the party into bidding Mexico's president into recognizing the National Assembly leader as the de facto president, without an election and in contradiction of non-intervention stance with respect to foreign states.
