Chile is shocked by the tragic death of former president Sebastián Piñera (74) in a helicopter crash this afternoon, February 6. Piñera, who was president for two non-consecutive terms, was traveling with his family in his private helicopter when it crashed into Lake Ranco, in the south of the country.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that three passengers were able to escape from the aircraft before it crashed and plunged into the lake.
