Current Puebla Governor, Martha Ericka Alonzo, and husband, former-Puebla Governor, Rafael Moreno Valle, Killed In Helicopter Crash
Moreno Valle killed in Helicopter Crash.
The former governor of the Mexican state of Puebla, Rafael Moreno Vallee, and current governor of Puebla, Martha Ericka Alonzo, his wife, have died in a helicopter crash. The governor was not fondly remembered in activist circles; he was nicknamed “el gober bala” for permitting the use of lethal headshots with rubber bullets by his Puebla state riot police. This led to the death of a 13 year old boy during a protest.
In New York during 2014, he was booted out of an event by Mexican protestors in response.
He is alleged to have his wife win the governorship through an illegal alliance with the PRI party, and thus retain effective control of the office for illicit means, all while Puebla manages water crisises and loses additional resources to multinational corporations.
