La Cartita --- At the iconic, 'Aztec Stadium' (Estadio Azteca), Mexico's frontrunner in this year's presidential election, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, spoke to a massive crowd of his supporters on the implications of an opposition party victory. Already, commentators and the public alike are bracing themselves for a final phase of the brutal election cycle. More than 130 individual politicians have been assassinated as both insurgent and more established mafiosi attempt to dictate the course of the election and potential economic growth at the regional level. Still, many are pointing to that very dynamic as a huge reason to vote for AMLO, as Lopez Obrador is widely known.

Who Is AMLO?

A native from the state of Tabasco, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador's political aspirations began like that of most politicians living in a country with one party rule: inside of the ruling party. Like today, the Institutional Revolutionary Party was at the helm of the Mexican presidency when AMLO first joined it. He eventually parted ways with the party, leading an insurgent governor's campaign in his home state with the then radical and opposition 'PRD' (Party of Democratic Revolution).

Disgraced Ex-President of Mexico, Vicente Fox, Calls On Mexicans Abroad To Not Vote AMLO

La Cartita --- Vicente Fox, former president of Mexico, called on Mexicans residing within the borders of the United States to not vote for Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. Last week, the ex-president, who ruled Mexico during 2000 to 2006, met with PRI nominee Jose Antonio Meade, possibly strategizing to sap supporters from AMLO. Mexican consulates are notorious for their lack of impartiality, with NYC consulates staffed entirely with PRI loyalists. ETP, the corporation that owns Dakota Access Pipeline, has suffered a hack.

La Cartita --- Yesterday, a cyberattack, possibly linked to Russia or other state actors, was undertaken against Energy Transfer Partners, the owners of the Dakota Access Pipeline. So far, 4 gas pipelines have been shutdown as a result. Companies that suffer such attacks are vulnerable to their stock devaluing. Often on social media, news of these hacks are actively suppressed due to that information factoring into their valuation.

The computer network attack first appeared as a service outage at a document exchange. The exchange likely contained sensitive information relating to the customers' distribution of oil. After the attack was identified, the ETP system's operational capacity was restored only for the malicous code to jump into other networks.

While that attack was declared suppressed and repelled early Tuesday, a distinct attack appears to have shutdown Energy Transfer data warehouse and affected several other related companies in the oil pipeline industry. The attacks come after an AP report that notes White House intelligence analysts think Russia has infiltrated vast amounts of US energy infrastructure.
